Supervision sessions are usually scheduled on a monthly basis
As practitioners who are growing and learning every day, it is important to have the space to step back from the work we do and reflect deeply. This is called critical reflection, but it doesn't involve criticism. Instead it is about looking at key incidents as objectively as possible, noticing the assumptions and personal meaning that we bring, and being open to alternative ways of seeing things, that may help us do things differently.
Sharon has years of experience in supporting workers to reflect critically on their work, and incorporate this with their ethical and practice frameworks, to help support and encourage them as they grow towards being more connected, professional and reflective practitioners.
Professional supervision that is paid for by your organisation is provided at $150 per hour.
If you are self-funding for your supervision, we will discount this rate to $120 per hour.
Sharon is passionate about providing an environment for the individual worker to bring all aspects of their work, both 'successes' and 'failures', where all parts of themselves are welcome too. Sharon puts a range of strategies in place for her own self-care and has lots of resources that can be encouraging and supportive, helping those who work in the sector to create their own buffer zone against burn-out and vicarious trauma. People in the helping professions tend to be at greater risk of these issues which can lead to compassion fatigue and lack of longevity in this very important work.
